With Ek Tha Tiger already a monstrous Hit at the box office, all cinegoers have just one question in mind. ETT is Blockbuster or All Time Blockbuster? There is no specific formula for a film being Blockbuster or ATBB. But those film that attain ATBB status have stormed box office like never before and has been benchmark in coming years. Lets solve the puzzle.

First logically a film for attaining ATBB status it needs to break few Box Office Records and New Records should be a benchmark in coming days. ETT succeeds in that. Secondly the most important term is film should earn profits from each sectors, each circuits, literally everywhere. Be it distributors, exhibitors, theatres and makers literally every body should earn huge. Lastly Return on Investment (ROI) should be huge at least 100%.

Must Requirements for ATBB -

Minimum Nett Collections (Inflation Adjusted for 2012 right now) should be at least 175+ crore nett. As per Trade.

ROI(Most Important Condition) should be at least 100% or more.

Break existing Box Office Records and set new ones.

ETT has broken All Box Office Records except Lifetime Figure of 3 Idiots. Also, it has crossed 175+ cr nett cutoff mark. Only remaining point is ROI 100% or more.

Cost of ETT - Earlier makers of ETT has stated the Budget as 80 crore as predicted in our ETT Box Office Prediction Post. But after post release and marketing and publicity cost added it is now officially 90 crore. Hence, for ROI to be minimum 100% it should make double the budget of ETT. That means it should earn 180 crore Gross Amount.

Amount Recovered by ETT (Except India Theatricals) -

Satellite Right 45-50 crore (speculated)

Music and other rights 6 crore.

Overseas expected 20-25 crore Distributor Share

That means a total of  75-80 crore will be recovered except India Theatricals. So, for 100% ROI it should collect another 105 crore Distributor Share that will take total earning to 180 crore. For attaining 105 distributor share from India Theatricals, it should collect a Nett Gross of 185 crore nett at the Box Office.

Cut off mark of Ek Tha Tiger to be ATBB - Approximately 185 crore nett or more and ETT is ATBB. If Ek Tha Tiger crosses 3 Idiots Lifetime Collection it is undisputed ATBB. Cheers! Hope that answers all your queries!
