With the success of ‘Dabangg’ the Hindi film industry folks are finding it difficult to maintain their loyalty as they are afraid of Salman Khan’s wrath. Also as the name suggests ‘Dabangg’ the entire unit of the film has shown that they are ‘fearless’ of doing the things that they did, like taking chances with a new-comer, Salman playing a corrupt cop for the first time as Chulbul Pandey. But there is a company who is not afraid of ‘Dabangg’ or the people associated with the film, the Emami Ltd.
The Kolkata based firm has issued a legal notice against the film for using a product name of their company. A highly popular song of the film “Munni Badnamm” uses the product “Zandu Balm” in the one of its lines. The legal notice has been issued for copyright infringement according to the Emami Ltd Director Mohan Goenka.
“Zandu Balm’ is a very popular pain relief balm and the lawyer of Zandu’s Ashok M Saraogi has said that the song uses the name in several places and has not taken the permission from the company. Mr. Saragoi has gone on the state that it attempts to defame the reputation of the product.
Hence a legal notice has been served to Arbaaz Khan, his wife and partner Malaika Arora Khan and their company Arbaaz Khan Production Private Limited. The notices were also send to director Abhinav Kashyap and Sri Ashtavinayak Cinemas Ltd on Sept 17. The notice asks the producers to either delete the song or the name of their product from the song, or else they will pursue with civil and criminal charges.
However, one of the officials of Emami has said the song has boosted the sales of “Zandu Balm” remarkably since the song was released.
