Salman Khan to work with Aamir Khan in the Sequel of ‘Andaaz Apna Apna

The producer, Vinay Sinha plans to do a film with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. Salman Khan is one of the actors, who helped his producer and directors when they were in troubles. According to the latest news, Vinay Sinha is in bad position and when he approached Salman to do a film with him, Salmlan Khan immediately agreed.

Salman Khan and Vinay Sinha discussed about the script of the film. Finally, they decided to make the sequel for ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’, which was a big block buster in 90′s with Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karishma Kapoor and Raveen Tandon as a lead roles in the film and was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

Vinay Sinha now plans to approach the director, Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan to work for the film. The director hopes that Aamir Khan will also agree to work with Salman Khan in the sequel of ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’. Vinay Sinha, says if thing do not work properly then he will plan to do with other director and actor, but the director is not having the idea to work with others except Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi for the film.

Salman-Akshay-Saif for Sajid Nadiadwala

It appears that talks of recession are passé (thank goodness for that). If production plans of Sajid Nadiadwala are any indication, Bollywood can well heave a sigh of relief. The man is all set to announce not less than three films together, a first at least for him, with confirmed reports of him having finalised the likes of Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan for his next three mega crore ventures. When this indeed materialises, it would be the first instance of top superstars being signed in one go by an independent production house.

This is not all as the directors chosen to do the job also come with good credentials as far as making commercial cinema is concerned. While Siddharth Anand would be at the helm of affairs for the Saif Ali Khan starrer, Sajid Khan would be working with Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani again for the sequel to Housefull (yes, you heard it right)! There are also talks of a big director coming on board for Salman Khan's Kick.

Says an industry observer, "This is unprecedented. Ever since recession struck in last couple of years, there has been a huge slowdown in films even being announced, let aside coming on floors. Also, even if a few announcements have been made, they have been made by corporate houses that have ventured into movie making business only in last 4-5 years. However, most of the independent filmmakers have been lying low with not more than one or at maximum two films being on floors."

It was this time duration which Sajid made one film at a time and got reasonable success with Kambakkht Ishq (2009) and a huge money spinner in Housefull (2010), both starring Akshay Kumar. However, now as he is ready for his another biggie Anjaana Anjaani with Ranbir Kapoor (who has gained superstar status for himself in the interim period), the news about him making three major films is poised to cause a stir in the industry.

"It is obvious that post the correction period, things have started settling down in Bollywood", continues the observer, "Filmmakers have been in a wait and watch zone. In fact a top production house like Yash Raj Films too has been going quite slow (till some time back they had at least 3 or 4 releases per year). Dharma Productions is still churning out films though majority of other high profile production houses are just lying low. While it earlier seemed that due to no new films being commissioned, 2011 would be barren, the news of Sajid bringing three films on floors is not just a huge surprise but also a reason to rejoice."

What one looks forward to now is which of the leading ladies in Bollywood would be getting ready to rejoice. While for Siddharth Anand's film with Saif, there is a toss up between Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra; Housefull sequel could be featuring Deepika Padukone again. Also, Sonakshi Sinha - now a hot favourite with Salman after Dabangg - could well find herself paired opposite him in Kick.

Though Sajid is non-committal about the leading ladies, he does confirm that the films with Akshay, Salman and Saif are definitely going on floors. "Yes, we have finalised plans for the three films. There would be further information shared about the films soon."

When asked the obvious question about his production house going big and launching as many as three biggies (the combined budget of which is said to be in the vicinity of 150 crores or even more) together, Sajid says, "There wasn't anything planned. In fact even the budget that you mention isn't finalised. As for me coming up with three films together, it just happened. If you look in the past, I didn't make a film for four years even though Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega (2000) was a hit. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) was the next release after that. It all depends upon how something good comes to me and excites me. These films did excite so I decided to get them rolling."

Well, with one more film with Imtiaz Ali in the pipeline, it seems like Sajid Nadiadwala is indeed going through one 'exciting' phase. Pun intended.

Can Dabangg works like Wanted?

Salman Khan is one of the best actors in Bollywood and enjoying huge fan fellowship. His latest release Dabangg is ready to hit the theaters on this Eid. This is his brother Arbaz Khan’s first home production. Salman khas has giving lots of back to back hits in 1990s especially in between 1997-1999 his success ratio was more than 80 %. However last decade wasn’t good enough for him as compare 1990s but still he has lots of fans and still ruling on Bollywood.

Salman’s last Hit was Wanted which released last year on Eid. After Wanted three movies came MAMK, London Dreams and Veer but none of any movie got real success. Veer was just an average fair but London Dreams and Main Aurr Mrs Khanna flopped badly.

Now history is repeating again and Salman’s new movie Dabangg is coming on this Eid like Wanted. Dabangg is also masala action movie just like Wanted. Now the question is after three failures will Dabangg work like Wanted or will it sink?

Salman Khan turns into Action hero

After working on some comedy film Salman Khan has come back to the action era in bollywood. His Wanted proved that he had capability to hold the cinema viewers on the box-office with the action film. So, romantic Salmal has turned back to action superstar. After Dabangg it will be his movement will be change among the viewers as an action hero.

Basically, ‘Kick’ is one of the highest reviewed cashed movies of South Indian Telugu film industry in 2009. In its Hindi version Salman Khan might be appeared as star. So, it is clear that he is touring himself as an action hero of bollywood. As his romantic movies doesn’t a good support in box-office which cased himself to action.

The action movie Veer was released in 22 January 2010. The second action film is going to be released in next month. But, for the next film Kick he is trained by the Hollywood’s French maestro. The Transporter, The Kiss of The Dragon, Rush Hour 3, Taken and Hitman are the creation of Guegan.

Confirming these flash developments producer Sajid Nadiadwala says, "For Kick we needed to take the action to another level, not just for Salman but also for Indian cinema. Yes, Philippe Guegan has agreed to come down to Mumbai in September and personally train Salman."

Salman is rapidly building up reputation for accurate film prophecies on Twitter

Paul the Octopus created a worldwide stir with his accurate predictions for the World Cup matches. But nearer home it is Salman the Rock-star who is rapidly building up a reputation for accurate prophecies on the Twitter.

Ever since Salman started tweeting, he has been regularly recommending one film or another. And the ones that he has so far recommended have all been successes. It started first with Raajneeti. One of Salman's first tweets was in favour of the film, although he had not seen it. Raajneeti became the first blockbuster of 2010.

Then came Salman's tweets on debutant Punit Malhotra's I Hate LUV Storys. That too jelled with the audience. Lately Salman has been gung-ho about another debutant Abhishek Sharma's Tere Bin Laden, apparently because the producer Pooja Shetty is a pal. That too has been very well- received.

The aftermath of Salman the Soothsayer's soothing recommendations? Brother Arbaaz Khan is now sure the tweet-magic would work for their home production. Without informing Arbaaz, Salman has already started posting images and comments on Dabangg on the social network.

Laughs Arbaaz, "If Salman's recommendations worked for three films so far, why not for us? We seem to have a resident soothsayer. And I plan to make maximum use of him."

Arbaaz admits Salman has started his Twitter campaign for Dabangg a little prematurely. "He has been going around taking pictures on the sets and putting them on Twitter. It shows his enthusiasm for the film. I am happy to have Salman on my side. Dabangg is a very important release for Salman. He has no other release this year. We hope to use his time for him to visit non-metropolitan cities for promotion, since Dabangg is set in a small North Indian town."

As for his uninterrupted luck on Twitter, Arbaaz laughs, "I think more producers need to have Salman on their side, if the industry is to have more hits."

What if Diwali crackers start to burst in Eid? It is pretty evident that Dabangg is releasing this Eid. Abhinav Kashyap cannot thank his good fortunes enough. When I met him recently at his Andheri office, he too bursts a cracker of a quote, "It's a great burden off my head that I am not being known as Anurag Kashyap's brother after the Dabangg trailer released." 'Mujhe pyaar se dar lagta hai sahab'
Sonakshi plays a very powerful character in Dabangg. She is this woman who sees life in perspective. She has an alcoholic father in the film who she is devoted herself to. She doesn't want to fall in love and get married. But right through the film, she is willing to face all the challenges head on. That line, 'Mujhe pyaar se dar lagta hain sahab' says it all.

Anurag Kashyap's brother
Being Anurag Kashyap's brother created difficulties for me initially. Now I am enjoying it. There is a certain kind of expectation from me also because I am Anurag Kashyap's brother. People are expecting some sort of sensibility, whether it's massy or classy, doesn't matter.

Arbaaz me, "Would you mind if I produce the film also?" I said, "I would love it."

Nobody approached me. I was approaching people after I had my script almost ready. I was meeting a lot of people when I saw Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. I loved the cameo by Arbaaz and Sohail. I thought they were outrageously funny. One of my friends happened to know Arbaaz and he set up a meeting with him because I wanted to cast him for one of the roles in Dabangg. I got twenty minutes from Arbaaz and he said, "This is a brilliant script". He called me the same evening and told me that he wanted to turn producer but he couldn't get a perfect script. He also asked me, "Would you mind if I produce the film also?" I said, "I would love it." We then met the day after at Sohail's house and took it from there.

Both Sohail and Arbaaz, after getting convinced with the script, put an idea into my head saying that why people like me wanted to make films by taking small stars. They told me, "Why don't you think of this film with a huge star?" That's how Salman Khan came into the picture. I was considering some other people for Chulbul's role. I was going to take a different route which was going to shock a lot of my friends but I did it eventually. I was trying to make a film since three years with Irrfan, Kay Kay, etc but I could never raise the money. But all the Khan brothers backed this film with great passion and belief.

Re-writing Chulbul
Even Anurag rewrites his script keeping in mind his actor's personality. I too incorporated Salman's personality thereafter. His personality was always there to some extent. He had a macho image of a guy who never puts a foot wrong and breaks a few rules. But we tweaked his character a little bit and rewrote it.

Expectation
I've never sincerely expected anything great from a film I'd make. I actually love it. This is very personal but I am working in this industry for fifteen years and people have been expecting an Anurag Kashyap out of me. For the first time, they are now expecting Abhinav Kashyap and I love it. I am finally reading articles in the newspapers where I am not mentioned as Anurag's brother. It's a great burden off my head. We both are the best of friends but I hate it when all I do in my personal capacity is attached to him by the media and others. Now he will be called Abhinav Kashyap's brother (laughs). It's good that he is going around telling people that Abhinav has made a commercial film. Now the rest of his life, he'll be funding my films (laughs).

Dabangg Music Review-III

Planet Bollywood

Sajid and Wajid’s career started in a Salman Khan film way back in 1998 (Pyar Kiya Tho Darna Kya) and since then they have produced consistently for films starring this hugely popular star. But arguably their best music has been released in recent years for soundtracks such as Wanted, Main aur Mrs Khanna and lately Veer. No wonder the producer (Arbaaz Khan) is sticking to a winning formula for the music of the forthcoming Dabangg. Will the duo produce another hit soundtrack?

Track 1 is the enjoyable”Tere Mast Mast Do Nain”, a romantic number built around qawwali arrangements. There’s nothing new here in the music department but give it chance and you will be hooked albeit in the short term only. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan seems to be singing for everyone these days and whilst he is undoubtedly a fine performer you get the feeling he needs to be more selective to prevent his singing from sounding stale. Lyrics by Faiz Anwar are the highlight. Overall a good start to the soundtrack.

Track 2, ”Munni Badnaam” is composed by guest composer Lalit Pandit and is made strictly for the film so don’t expect it to be hogging your playlist. Singing is by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya.

Track 3 gets us back in the groove with the lovely “Chori Kiya Re Jiya” . Again expect nothing new by the duo but you have to admit the arrangements are pretty catchy nevertheless thanks to some melodious guitar strings and addictive beats. By far the biggest attraction of this song is the duet by the fantastic jodi of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal who prove yet again why they rank as the finest singers of their generation. Uff their irresistible vocals make this one a killer for romantics! Credit to Sajid and Wajid for attracting such performers.

Track 4 is the folksy song”Hud Hud Dabangg” which isn’t bad but sounds like a rip off from the superb “Omkara” title track. Firstly Sukhwinder Singh’s typically rustic singing (he is supported by Wajid) is a dead giveaway but the music is very similar too with the heavy drums and powerful violin strings. Even the UP lyrics sway your opinion towards Vishal Bharadwaj’s original masterpiece. So whilst you can conclude that this is not a bad effort by any means, it can’t touch the original classic “Omkara”!

Track 5 is the peppy dance number “Humka Peeni Hai” . Another typical village based song by Sajid and Wajid, this one relies heavily by the onscreen presence of Salman Khan having a blast whilst drinking away the night! Singing trilogy of Master Saleem, Wajid and Shabab Sabri works well against the folksy lyrics by Jalees Sherwani. Strictly for the film.

Track 6 is the second version of “Tere Mast Mast Do Nain” featuring a contribution by Shreya Ghoshal. Any contribution by her is always welcome to a song.

Track 7-9 are remixes for the above tracks which you might try if you enjoy the originals.

Track 10 is the”Dabangg Theme” which is interesting because alongside the music it contains some interesting and funny dialogues by Salman Khan.

Sajid and Wajid’s brand of music appeals to the mass audience because it’s simple, catchy, easy on the ears and fun. Dabangg further showcases their ability to connect with the mass audience. In other words it delivers (although perhaps not their best) thanks to their ability to attract strong singers such as Sonu, Sukhwinder and Shreya. As far as the film is concerned, it’s already attracting huge interest thanks to its inimitable star, Sallu bhai !

Hud Hud! Here comes desi Robinhood aka Salman Khan with his film Dabangg and its full-on-masti music. The promos are already a hit on the small screen. So what is lined up for the music buffs, or, to say, Sallu fans?

Sajid-Wajid, Salman’s favourite composer duo is back after Veer, creating songs for Dabangg as well. So, plug-in to Dabangg music, which for sure is going to entertain you.

In a typical Sajid-Wajid style, the album begins with Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, a Bollywood romantic number soused in sufi flavour. If Rahat Fateh ali khan delivers the song in his usual vigour, Shreya Ghosal's saccharine voice adds melody to the song. Deadly combo and terrific rendering! However, the remix version of the song fails to make a mark. Rahat again wins hearts with the sad version of the song which is slow and immensely passionate.

Welcome Munni Badnam Hui song and get into the Dabangg rustic mood. The masala track has Malaika Arora’s thumkas, so expect the screen to sizzle. Newcomer Lalit Pandit is the composer of the song and gets Mamta Singh and Aishwarya to sing this raunchy number, and one will definitely enjoy its catchy lyrics, main jhandu bam hui darling tere liye - that’s mind-boggling. Well, the credit goes to lyricist Jalees Sherwani. Alas! the remix version of the song has not much to offer.

The album slips into mushy mood with Chori Kiya Re Jiya. Sonu Nigamand Shreya Ghosal team up again to give us a love ballad. But the track falls short of expectations; sadly it is just an average number.

Now comes the true Dabangg song. Hud Hud Dabangg is gritty and valorous in tone and who else than Shukhwindar to sing it. As usual, the crooner has done a brilliant job with this number which makes it one of the must-hear songs in the whole album. So what if it’s a bit similar to the Omkara track.

Hamka Peeni Hai, is another song that promises sharab, shabab and music. The folk based song crooned by Wajid with Master Salim is full on masti which makes it undoubtedly a treat for the Salman maniacs. The remix version is racy and saucy; get ready to have a blast.

The most entertaining of the lot seems to be the Dabangg theme, which is extensively used in the promos. The instrumental song has some of Salman’s dhasu dialogues from the film too. Like a fireball, the theme song enthralls.

Music directors have done full justice to the album and to Salman’s character. The actor’s die-hard fans will surely not be disappointed. The groovy songs bustle with vim and fun.

Dabangg will work" - Abhinav Kashyap: Part 1

Another morning's newspaper. The headline reads -Dabangg trailer opens with a bang. The twitter world going ga-ga about the trailer.' A quick shower and off I head to meet the debutant director of Indian cinema's most talked about film releasing this Eid. When I enter Abhinav Kashyap's just done up office in Andheri, no wonder, I feel that he is sitting there like the cat that got the cream. He comes across as a man who Bollywood knows as Anurag Kashyap's brother. "I can't escape that, can I?" Abhinav questions, and continues, "But it's good for me when my career is just about to begin." Cheeky, isn't he? Come to think of it, Abhinav and Anurag are poles apart in their cinematic takes. Kashyap has just finished eating his lunch and is about to start the interview when I spot an A2 size frame of The Godfather behind his back. "It will soon change in the coming years. We will definitely have our Bollywood ones up there in a few years." That's how quirky he can get. Just then his assistant director on the same film offers me something hot or cold. I choose the latter and in minutes, open my fizzy can of Diet Coke. Now understand this: Abhinav Kashyap talks too much. He rarely talks about himself. He doesn't want to tell you what he already knows or what he just read. He's not much interested in discussing what he's already done. He maunders, protracts, divagates through his ideas and never pauses. Mostly, he wants to tell you what he's thinking. And he's thinking Dabangg all the way. But that's it. From there on, Kashyap does not shut up. In part one of the exclusive two part series, in a no holds barred interview, UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent talks to the man in news for all the right reasons, Abhinav Kashyap, on his debut film which is touted to break all records once it opens at the box office this September. The reasons - Salman Khan, Salman Khan, Salman Khan. And then, Kashyap intervenes. He pauses and delivers a line of the day, "Cliché is a cliché because it works. I had read somewhere."

Twitter
Twitter never existed till a year and a half back. This whole 'tweeting' phenomenon has really caught on now. I personally feel, no other Bollywood star can match the kind of fan following in masses like that of Salman Khan. All what the audiences got was the product which they were sure of, came from Salman's table. These factors were the driving force which led to the stampede that followed over Dabangg's first theatrical trailer.

Over the years, if you analyze Salman's career, there are particular kind of roles that people like to watch Salman in, and once we made up our minds that we are going to make a commercial pot-boiler, we thought of going the whole unapologetic way, the Salman Khan way.

One schedule
There were instances in the past where Salman was told that he wasn't serious about his work, he was known for his continuity jerks in his films, he had different hair styles in the same film, etc. We were very careful with all those facts. Dabangg is Salman's first film after Maine Pyaar Kiya which is done in one schedule. This was done because he could maintain the same hairstyle. I wanted him to grow a moustache but he couldn't do it because he was shooting for Veer and there was no time gap between the two films.

Dabangg v/s Wanted
I would be limiting my film if I said that Dabangg takes off from where Wanted left. Yes, it has got all the masala of Wanted but there is much more to Dabangg. That is just one aspect of the film. It's got far more serious drama than shown in Wanted. Salman's character kills about fifty people in Wanted but in Dabangg, he hardly kills. It's more in the masti zone. Chulbul Pandey is more interested in the money than in the killing.

Robinhood Pandey
We didn't start off with a Robinhood concept. It just happened on one day of the shoot that there was a scene where a character asks Salman to introduce himself. So we just put our heads together because we could come up with a name that described Chulbul aptly. The suggestion of 'Robinhood Pandey' came from Salman. The name is universal and the people around the world know who he was. Salman doesn't want to reveal his first name Chulbul in the film. When we edited the film, people started loving the Robinhood name and we thought to stick with it.

Sexy in a Saree - Sonakshi
Oh yes, Sonakshi definitely looks sexy in a saree. She has got that 'take home to your momma' type of an appeal. We went through a lot of new faces but Sonakshi was one of the prettiest faces I met at that point in time. The lineage kind of helped me package it well. There is a curiosity when a star child is being launched. Sonakshi is a very good learner. She lost thirty to forty kilos in six to eight months, she did a workshop which we conducted for three months and she was all there, listening and trying. I loved her nose pin and insisted her to keep it. It somehow just fitted her face. There is not too much glamorous stuff I could've done with Sonakshi. So I told her, "I just hope people love you in the saree just the way I like."

Songs
We've got five blockbuster tracks in the film. The first one is the title track called 'Hunhun Dabangg'. Then there is a track which people love right now called 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain'. There is an item number called 'Munni Badnaam Huyee' which is choreographed on Malaika Arora Khan. She plays 'Munni' in the film. And there is a typical male party number where people are drinking and all, titled 'Humko Peeni Hain'. We've packaged all the songs and the film in a manner which would seem fresh to people.

Cliché is a cliché
I don't know who said that but I read somewhere that 'Cliche is a cliché because it works'. Dabangg will work. There is a reason why such films do well. It's very easy to sit in cosy offices and intellectualise the whole thing but if you go out on the streets, you'll find out the truth. One of my assistants went to a barber shop and saw the promo of Peepli Live playing. He asked the barber - "Tumko kya lagta hai..Nattha marega ya nahin?" The barber got irritated and said, "Marega saala...aur nahin mara toh main maar doonga." He couldn't understand why it made the barber angry but it's getting people to talk about the film.

Salman Khan to host Bigg Boss 4

After Big B announced the commencement of the popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati, it's now time for none other than Salman Khan. Sallu will soon be seen hosting season 4 of the popular reality show Bigg Boss.

For some time now, there has been quite a lot of speculation whether King Khan AKA Shahrukh Khan will be the host; however, all rumours have been put to rest with Sallu being nominated as the host for the show. Sallu even tweeted about the same stating, "Doing bigg bossssssssssssssssssssssss! boss ."

Though the dates of the show haven't yet been finalized, it is said that Sallu and Big B will be pitting their with against each other as show hosts on two different shows with the latest season of Bigg Boss being said to start alongside KBC. On previous seasons other prominent Bollywood stars like Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh himself have been hosts, so what's left to be seen is how Sallu treats the show. But knowing his unique persona and charisma, as seen in his early show 10 Ka Dum, audiences can be rest assured that he will rock.

EXPECTATIONS
Well, it can now be comfortably said that Salman Khan and his composer duo of Sajid and Wajid are definitely a team. One look at the last few films of Salman and the declaration does come with a strong standing. Wanted, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, Veer and now Dabangg - Film after film it is the same team which is coming together to get the music in place. Add to this the fact that this combination along with lyricist Jalees Sherwani has invariably delivered and you know that Dabangg too is in safe hands. What does one expect? Well, a mix of all genre of songs, something that was also the case with Salman's last masala action entertainer - Wanted.

MUSIC
Dabangg begins on a highly positive note with 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' which is written by guest lyricist Faaiz Anwaar. This track easily sits amidst the best of what Sajid-Wajid have offered in their musical career so far. Easy on ears, extremely melodious, good pace and instantly catchy, 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' has a Sufi base to it which is elevated to further heights due to one man - Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. His name spells quality and it is no different in case of 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' which is all set to be a chartbuster and has en evergreen appeal to it. No wonder, not just it arrives at the very beginning of the album, it is also repeated in a duet version with Shreya Ghoshal (good again) and a 'remix version' (not really the preferred version).

An attempt to recreate the flavour of 'Beedi Jalaile Le' turns out to be just a good - not extraordinary - outing in the form of 'Munni Badnaam'. Lalit Pandit is the guest composer and lyricist of this song which has a UP-Bihar setting to it (which goes in synch with the backdrop of the film as well) and is sung in a rustic style by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya. The lyrics, though definitely not vulgar, cater mainly to the gentry, what with references to Bipasha Basu as well as Bebo (Kareena Kapoor). A foot tapping (as is the 'remix version'), a lot will depend upon how it is picturised on Malaika Arora Khan because in isolation, it is not the kind that has in it to cover a huge distance all by itself.

Well, if one thought that 'Don't Say Alvida' was the best that Sajid-Wajid, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal had to offer to Salman in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna then watch out for 'Chori Kiya Re Jiya'. Boasting of simple lyrics by Jalees Sherwani (who takes over the scene from this point on), 'Chori Kiya Re Jiya' is yet another winner that Dabangg can guarantee for itself. Melodious, sweet sounding and instantly bringing a smile on your face, 'Chori Kiya Re Jiya' is the kind of number that ensures a comfortable hearing as well as viewing due to an intrinsic innocent appeal.

What is not so innocent though is 'Udd Udd Dabangg' which is the kind of title song that is totally on the same lines as the one heard in title track of Omkara. What is also common is Sukhwinder Singh who was vociferous in Omkara but is hauntingly subdued yet powerful in Dabangg. It takes a couple of listening to grasp the mood of 'Udd Udd Dabangg' and though it is not the one to be sung around, it makes for a good inclusion in the background score of the film's narrative. Wajid too joins Sukhwinder for this rustic number that should auger well with Salman's fans.

Just a few months back, music lovers were offered an energetic 'drunken song' in the form of 'Taali Maar' [Veer]. In fact it was one under rated number that deserved to cover a bigger distance. An effort is made to create a song on the same lines, 'Humka Peeni Hai', with Salman as the centre of attraction yet again. However, the results aren't as exciting as 'Taali' with 'Humka Peeni Hai' turning out to be just about average. Wajid, Master Salim and Shabab Sabri come together to get the energy into the proceedings but somehow the tune by itself doesn't excite a listener enough to play it over and over again, despite the arrival of a 'remix version' a little later.

The album ends on a high note though with 'Dabangg Theme', which just like the 'Most Wanted' track in Wanted comes with good enough ammunition to keep the listener hooked. Chances are that you have gone through the theatrical promo of Dabangg already. If so, there is good news because the same promo is heard in 'Dabangg Theme' with even the dialogues being kept intact. For the fans and followers of Salman Khan, it is a much cherished added bonus to listen to some powerful dialoguebaazi.

OVERALL
Dabangg delivers what it promised. One expected a masala soundtrack and this is what one gets with a couple of item song sequences, a couple of theme tracks and two love songs which are actually the highlight of the film. A soundtrack that has something in store for mass (Munni Badnaam, Humka Peeni Hai) as well as class (Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Chori Kiya Re Jiya), Dabangg should see good response at the music stands.

My father had tears in his eyes after seeing Dabangg promo" - Sonakshi Sinha

Ok...so I get up late on a Friday. It's 12pm and the first thing I do before I sip my hot cuppa chai is log on to Twitter and Facebook. Cut to Thursday afternoon. When you log in, you see the entire world awake, Bollywood celebrities going ga-ga about the Dabangg promo. From veterans like Satish Kaushik to new comers like Imran Khan, the list was endless. I too send a text message to Sonakshi congratulating her and the promo. She replies in affirmative saying that she will call up once she gets a bit free from her prior commitments. Cut to Friday. It's 12.15pm. I sip my tea and comment on the twitter page of Sonakshi Sinha, "You didn't call. OMG." At 12.16pm, my phone rings and my blackberry signals, 'Sonakshi Sinha calling'. I love Twitter, we all do, don't we? But we all love Sonakshi Sinha too. Yes, it just wasn't the promo which took the tweetiepies by surprise, oh no! It was the fact that the word 'beautiful' had a new meaning and it all changed on a mystic Friday afternoon. Welcome Sonakshi Sinha. Welcome to the world where dreams are sold, welcome the newest of the many Sinha's who've taken our cinema to new heights.
So elated is this beautiful girl, that she spoke her heart out, "I spoke to Rani Mukerji, my favourite actress. I got hundreds of text messages, my Twitter page was all filled up and my mother was keeping track on all of it."

So when asked, what did the eldest of the Sinha member, Mr Shatrughan Sinha thought of the Dabangg promo, Sonakshi answered, "My father and I saw the promo together and instead of me watching the promo, I was looking at him. He had tears in his eyes after seeing the Dabangg promo. He loved it and that for him, was his most emotional moment. For me too."

But it's not only Dabangg which she wants to talk about, the daughter of Shatrughan Sinha is very excited and anxiously waiting for his father's best ever role to come out in RGV's Rakta Charitra. She quotes, "I am eagerly looking forward to Rakta Charitra. I did visit the sets with my mother one day while he was shooting one of the key scenes with Vivek Oberoi. Whatever I saw, I had no words to describe it. It's like sounding too biased but it's still the truth. He is a class apart."

But before we parted ways, I had to ask the debutant, what she thought when people commented on Dabangg to open with a bang at the box office this Eid. "It's obviously going to work well for me as an individual if that's what the trade pundits have predicted. It's going to do even better for the Khans (Arbaaz, Salman) and Shree Ashtavinayak, as we all have had faith in this project right from the day of its inception. Never before has anyone commented so much in advance before a Hindi film's release and that too on networking sites. Thank you Twitter and Facebook."

Now imagine a life without these networking sites. For starters, it's working...and how! And as I write the final words to end this brief but beautiful talk with Sonakshi, two more Bollywood celebrities, Riteish Deshmukh and Kunal Kapoor tweet - "Extremely happy for my friend Arbaaz 'Robinhood Pandey' Khan and Dabangg looks like a Hindi pulp movie. Really looking forward to this one."

I hope Mr Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe are following our Indian 'Robinhood' Pandey. A much needed inspiration for them!

Dabangg Meaning

Salman Khan's Dabangg is coming soon. And then there are people who want to know what dabangg means. Well, Dabangg, or dabang, as it used to be spelled earlier, means someone who has a dabdaba, a control over a specific area and people there.
The word dabangg is generally used to address people who have good deal of control or influence over the other powerful people of the area. Hence, Dabangg also means Powerful.

Dabangg Trailer

As I watched the trailer of Salman Khan’s Dabangg, I was just loving it and cursing the producers why they released the trailer so early. Well, I’m in love with the trailer now and want to watch it. Anyone in doubt?

OK. If you are in doubt, here is the reason. For Salman Khan, there are two key areas: Fights and Comedy. And as I saw the trailer, I was sure I was going to plenty of both in the film, whatever be the story. My guess is, I can watch Dabangg to simply have a good time. Watch the trailer and decide for yourself.

How to be a successful blogger

This is a question which almost every budding blogger tries to find out. I am not saying that I am a very success blogger, but I have learned a lot from my experience. I do go through a number of blogs and bloggers work. These days many novice bloggers are trying to build blogs and get some earning by doing some posts and getting some traffic. For a blog to be success the final question to be answered is “Whats the traffic or your subscriber number?”.

Even to get private ads on your blog which is more rewarding than PPC programs like Google Adsense or Bidvertiser, you need to have good number of page views, visitors and other important factor which influences traffic from search engines is Google Pagerank.

I have some tips which should be useful for budding bloggers. These tips worked for me and I do not claim that this will be giving you the desired results instantly

1. Domain Name

This is something important, if you are planning for a long term blogging. You get free blogs hosted with portals like freewebs, blogger, wordpress etc, but you have lots of restrictions for that. If you register a domain, make sure you select a good domain name and preferably a .com tdl domain. Domain name should not be too big and difficult to remember. Every time your visitor may not be able to bookmark your blog, but if the domain name is something memorable then its an added advantage. For example my domain name is my full name which I had registered 9 years back. I do not want to change this but this is not something which everyone can remember easily. So my first point is Domain Name

2. Update Frequency

Make sure that you do at least 1 post a day, so that if you have regular readers, they get something new when they visit the next time. Every visitor needs something new when they come everytime

3. Descriptive posts from reliable sources with catching Title

Your posts should be descriptive and information provided should be from reliable sources so that other sites do link to your posts which will give you new visitors, backlinks and traffic. You should have a right title which should explain what is in the post. Good title helps in search engine ranking also. The content should be unique and not just copying from any other website and posting in your blog. Search engines will not index or rank such kind of websites

4. Get users to subscribe

Now you can offer great subscription features to your visitors. You just need to get the visitors to subscribe, You can create a subscription page and explain the details of the subscription. You can sign-up for a subscription service provider like Feedburner, which does all the work for you, you just need to create a free account and set up your RSS feeds

5. Comments and trackback

You should keep commenting option open and make sure that you read all the comments and reply to the visitors comments. You should try to be close to your visitors by addressing them by their name and even visit their blogs and post some comments on their blogs

6. Pictures / Videos in your blog posts

Pictures and videos are very effective and widely used by many successful bloggers, its believed than 1 picture can say more than 100 lines

7. User Interactive Posts

Post contests, polls which will make your visitors in participating in your blog activities. This will make your visitors to refer your blog their friends and build your regular visitors number

8. Visibility

This is a very important factor that impresses the first time visitor and makes him / her to bookmark your blog and come back. You should select a nice theme which has good fonts and color. The posts should be clear and readable. I see lots of blogs which are really difficult to read with lots of ads floating in between the text. Many bloggers just have more text ads than the description of the post. If a visitor comes to your blog and clicks on a Google adsense ad believing that its some information on you blog. Do not make your visitors feel that your site is a MFA Site. I know advertising is important, but you are losing a visitor without the knowledge of the visitor who clicks on a text links thinking that its a page of your blog. If you are linking to other sites or page, make the link open in another window using the target frame to _blank, but Google Adsense does not allow this. The fonts you use should be clear, I would prefer Arial, Tahoma, verdana which are very clear and readable.

9. Topic

You should decide a topic for your blog and should concentrate on that topic. When you select a topic, it should be something that you should be able to do some research and write good posts. The posts should be interesting for others to read

10. Bit of Programming knowledge

This is not mandatory and its not possible that every blogger knows web programming or languages like PHP, Mysql. Now a days, there are lots of CMS like WordPress, Typepad, Drupal Joomla available which are open source and easy to use for anybody. I do work with PHP and MySql and do some tweaks and extra work on templates or any needed functions

11. Bit of Advertising

This is something which is needed to promote your blog or to start off. Send emails to your friends about your blog, add the URL with your email signature and forum post. Never try to promote your blog by spamming. Spamming is a crime and always use some third party softwares to manage bulk mailing. Add provision to unsubscribe to every bulk mail that you send. You can use some PPC programs like Google Adwords to promote your blog which is not very expensive if your are able to manage your campaigns cleverly

12. No link selling or buying

Google is a very powerful source of traffic. 80% of my traffic comes from Google and you should keep your blog optimized for search engines too. You should not write posts for search engines by dumping keywords, just write usual posts and use key phrases that a person will use to search for a post that you are doing. Once you get a good pagerank, you will be contacted by many SEO’s for link trading, I get very often, just ignore those offers as this will ruin your pagerank and get buried in search engine result pages

1-Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

Barjatyas, most of the time, always has excellent and sweet music. While their film is targeted at family audiences, their other asset is their music. When one looks down the years as the best Barjatyas musical album, Maine Pyar Kiya is that album. Maine Pyar Kiya was released in the last month of 1989, before hitting the 90s decade. And Maine Pyar Kiya has made a huge impact. For one, not only was it the biggest hit of 1989, it’s the biggest hit in the 80s decade. Two, it was the highest selling album in the 80s, which will appeal every age group. Three, it was the beginning of one of the biggest superstar of all-time Salman Khan. Dil Deewana is the piece-to-resistance of this album. Both Lata Mangeshkar and SP Balasubrhmanium sing their version superbly. One of the best songs to ever come out in Bollywood. The other winners in this album are Kabootar Ja Ja, Aaye Mausam Dosti Ki, Maine Pyar Kiya, Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali, Kahe To He Sajna, and the Antakshri song. Every song is wonderfully done, that you want to hear album a lot of times. The songs are memorable, which make Maine Pyar Kiya one of best soundtracks of all-times.

2-Saajan (1991)

Nadeem-Shravan was the best music director in the 90s, as they churned hit albums, one right after the other. A strength in Saajan album is melody, as every song is melodious in its own way. From the amazing score, peotic lyrics from Sameer and wonderful singing that is associated in this album, Saajan is definitely one of the best albums in the 90s. The two best songs in this album are Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal and Jeeye To Jeeye Kaise. These two songs make Saajan album a must-have album. While the former is a wonderful romantic duet, the latter is a soulful song. The other great songs are the chartbuster Dekha Hai Pehli Baar, to the full of energy Tumse Milne Ki Tamanna Hai, to the poetic Bahut Pyar Karte Hain, to the joyful Tu Shayar Hai, and to enjoyable Pehli Baar Mile Hain, Saajan is enjoyable album that got its deserving Best Music award that year. People thought Nadeem-Shravan was a one film wonder when Aashiqui album was released, but with Saajan, they prove they were here to stay. Saajan music should be remembered in the years to come.

3-Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994)

It’s true when they say that no wedding celebrations can be complete without the songs from the Blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Raam-Laxman, in those days, gave the Barjatyas wonderful musical score, and it comes to no shock that Hum Aapke Hain Koun is ranked amongst its best. Every song from Hum Aapke Hain Koun was Super-Hit material, which the album sold over a crore copies. Didi Tera Devar, Wah Wah Ramji, Samdhi Samdhan, Joote Dedo Paise Lelo, Dhiktana, Maaye Ni Maaye, Chocolate Lime Juice, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Yeh Mausam Ka Jaadu, Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai, Lo Chali Main, each of these songs were popular in its own right. Raam-Laxman and Barjatyas score once again with Hum Aapke Hain Koun after the super success of Maine Pyar Kiya.

4-Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)

Winner of the Best Music Award from the National Awards, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is a musical treasure that has superb songs from start to finish. Bhansali is one director, with an ear for great music, and he can extract memorable songs from nearly all the music directors. To the unforgettable Chand Chhupa, to the dazzling Nimboda, to the melodious Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, to the percussive Man Mohini, to the haunting Jhonka Hawa Ka, to the foot-tapping Dholi Taro Dhol, to the brilliant Tadap Tadap, to the outstanding title track, and the likeable Albela Sajan, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is truly cherishable. Along with Taal, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was a perfect album to end of the century.

5-Tere Naam (2003)

Music: Himesh Reshammiya, Sajid-Wajid

Lyrics: Sameer and Jalees Sherwani

Tere Naam was undoubtedly the best album of 2003, and it became big from the day it was released because it was known to be Salman Khan comeback film. It was not only the best selling album in India for that year, it sold very well in the US, Canada, UK and the West Indies. This is an album that comes once in a lifetime, as it has a variety of songs that makes this album popular till this day. From the mesmerizing title track, to the romantic Tumse Milna, to the youthful O Jaana, to the semi-qawalli Tune Saath Jo, to the heart-rending Kyon Kisi Ko, to the wonderful Chand, to the energetic Lagan Lagi, to the superb Man Basia, and the beautiful Oodhni, Tere Naam had every type of song that should easily appeal to the masses. It comes to no shock that Tere Naam album is still sells today because the score from Himesh Reshammiya is simply brilliant. If piracy never exist these days, no doubt Tere Naam music sales would’ve been 60 lakhs plus.

6-Khamoshi – The Musical (1996)

Music: Jatin-Lalit, Remo Fernandez
Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri, Remo Fernandez

Sanjay Leela Bhansali films always have great music, so let’s go back in time where it all began with Khamoshi – The Musical. This is was at a time where Jatin-Lalit was on a roll as they were delivering good albums one right after the other. However, Khamoshi remains a landmark for Jatin-Lalit as their songs are simply great. Out of the seven songs in the album, 6 of them were great tracks. From Aaj Main Upar (instant hit), Aankhon Main Kya (great singing from Kumar Sanu), Gaate The Pehle (great musical composition), Jana Suno Hum (excellent singing from Udit Narayan), Yeh Dil Sun Raha (Hit song), and Bahon Ke Darmiyan (easily the best song in the soundtrack), all of those six tracks are outstanding. The only letdown was Huiya Ho, which is plain below average. Except for Huiya Ho, Khamoshi is a great album, please get it. You won’t be disappointed.

7-Lucky (2005)

Music Director: Adnan Sami; Lyrics: Sameer

Hands down to the best soundtrack of 2005, which was Lucky (the only entry from 2005 that made it to this list). The soundtrack released at the perfect time, around Valentine’s Day. This soundtrack seem to be the prefect Valentine's gift for your loved ones, as melody was the key factor in this soundtrack. Six songs in the soundtrack (excluding all the different mix) and five of the songs stand out hugely. From the lovable Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam, to the endearing Sun Zara, to the spectacular Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai (easily the best song from the album), the attractive Chori Chori and the very youthful Lucky Lips, Lucky is a soundtrack that will appeal to everyone from every ages. The only disappointing song was Hum Deewane, however, those five songs easily camouflage that one song. Lucky, is simply the best album of 2005, thanks to the melody of Adnan Sami. Another factor that it had going in its favour was that it uses different singers for each track. Lata Manageshkar, Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan, Adnan Sami, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, and Anuradha Paudwal all made a huge impact of 2005. And deservingly, Lucky was one of the best selling album of 2005, which doesn’t come up as a surprise. I wouldn’t be surprised if Adnan Sami sweeps the Best Music awards from all award function, as he truly deserves it.

Anees Bazmee's Salman-Asin starrer Ready to be shot in Sri Lanka

Even before the hangover of a spectacular Videocon IIFA Weekend 2010 subsides, it seems like the host country, Sri Lanka, has already begun reaping the benefits of playing host to IIFA's magnificent 11th edition. Recognizing the gorgeousness of the island nation, and the welcoming warmth received by the Indian Film Fraternity during another magical IIFA weekend, Anees Bazmee's new film Ready, produced by T-Series and starring Salman Khan and Asin in lead roles, will now be filmed in Sri Lanka, beginning 20th June, 2010. The movie's location for shooting was originally scheduled to be Mauritius, but after enjoying a beautiful locale like Colombo during the Videocon IIFA Weekend, there was much enthusiasm to change the location to Sri Lanka

It may be recalled that in the absence of the Bachchan parivar and Shah Rukh Khan at the recently held IIFA weekend in Colombo, it was none other than Salman Khan who was the main attraction at this extravaganza. The actor, who played a key role in the IIFA Hands for Humanity Project, as the Brand Ambassador for Charity, thoroughly appreciated the kindness and generosity of the Sri Lankans and claims to be thrilled about returning to the neighbouring island.

Sri Lanka is undoubtedly excited to welcome the whole cast of Ready. It seems like the exuberant aura of Sri Lanka, that received global recognition at the Videocon IIFA Weekend will prove to be a big plus for this host country in the days to come.
